2026 Harvest updates

175 tons later. That's a wrap for the 2026 harvest season.

Harvest has a way of setting the pace around here during this time of year. Early mornings become long afternoons. The cellar gets louder. Boots get dirtier. And for a few months, almost everything revolves around getting the fruit from the vineyard to the winery at exactly the right time.

Now the vineyard gets a little quieter and Michael’s work moves to the cellar. Each lot begins to take shape, and we get our first real look at what this Texas vintage has given us.

The cellar team is getting the last lots into barrel. We taste each wine and hand-select particular barrels to help it develop. I like to think of aging wine much like taking a long rest, or a deep sleep.

This is also the time of year when we wake up the previous vintages and see how it has matured. The 2025 wines are now coming out of their barrels, and we’re tasting them for blending and selecting those that may be ready for bottling. Some wines are ready earlier than others. It always depends on the vintage and the varietal.

As you enjoy this season’s Wine Club selections, we are already working on the wines you’ll share around your tables in the coming years ahead... Things never truly slow down in the cellar!
